The sobriety and elegance of Ivory is manifested in this beautiful hammock with Geographical Indication woven directly from the land of the hammock, by artisans who were victims of the violence in the Montes de Maria-Colombia. Cotton is pre-washed before starting the process of making the hammock: the threads are “thrown” on the loom and organized to assemble the desired patterns, then the warp is made, which is the manually weaving of the fibers on the vertical loom; finally, the ends are finished to be able to hang the hammock with ropes and the crochet garnishes are made. It has Geographical Indication certified. They are made on request and according to the size you choose. It takes about a month to deliver them, based upon demand.

Lastly, two labels are placed: Latinlán’s certifying your support to the community and the Denomination of Origin that certifies its thorough elaboration according to the specifications of the tradition more than 500 years old certified through the Geographical Indication “Tejeduría de San Jacinto” or “San Jacinto Weaving”. The whole process is 100% handmade, and depends on the expertise of the weaver to make the hammock look nice and functional. The elaboration and use of hammocks is a tradition of many Latin American indigenous peoples for centuries; Which today is recognized and appreciated around the world. It is a real pleasure to rest, to contemplate, or to read, lulled by the soft swing of a hammock. To buy and to use a Latinlán hammock is to recognize and to value that tradition, is to support the Fair Trade and to contribute a bit to the community of San Jacinto.
